Palm Harbor car accident involving two vehicles leaves two men injured after the two vehicles collide. The incident took place at approximately 4:30 PM on Thursday afternoon, April 22, 2010, at County Road 611 and Tarpon Lake Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2008 Hyundai traveling northbound on County Road 611 made a left turn and into the path of a 2009 Toyota. The Toyota slammed into the side of the Hyundai.
The driver of the Hyundai has been identified as Curt Ekberg, 51, of Palm Harbor. Rescue crews transported Ekberg to Bayfront Medical Center and treated him for injuries sustained in the accident. He has been listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Toyota, Fabian Calvo, 32, of Clearwater was taken to Mease Countyside Hospital. He was treated for serious injuries.
Calvo’s car came to a stop in the southbound lanes of County Road 611 and the westbound lanes of Tarpon Lake Boulevard. Ekberg’s car was found on the west side of County Road 611.
The Palm Harbor auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have yet to determine who was at fault.
