
October 7, 2011 - Polk County, Fla. - According to a report from Bay News 9, a 45-year-old woman was killed in a hit and run in Polk County.
The fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Saturday, Sept. 24. At about 8:40 p.m., Pamela Miclette, 45, was crossing Armour Avenue to go visit her friend.
According to witnesses, a white pickup truck struck her and the driver fled the scene of the accident.
The friend she was going to visit ended up coming to her side where she lay. Miclette tragically died there at the scene.
The driver of the hit and run, Michael R. Mitchell, 33, was found and arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 28. He has been charged with hit and run causing death and driving with a suspended license.
