

September 1, 2011 - St. Petersburg, Fla. - According to a report from Old Northeast-Downtown St. Pete Patch, the driver of a car was seriously injured after he crashed into a school bus on Saturday morning, August 20.
Rashad Haughabook, 20, of St. Petersburg, was speeding when he struck a school bus in the intersection of 18th Avenue South and 44th Street South. The driver, Darcey Rice, 43, was the sole occupant of the bus and had been stopped at a stop sign when she was just starting to cross 18th Avenue South.
Haughabook's car partially slid underneath the bus, with the force pushing both vehicles across the road. His car then flipped onto the roof. He had to be extricated from his car and was then taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
Rice was not injured and police are still investigating the accident.
