Elderly Spring Hill Man Killed in Crash with Red Light Runner

Posted on Jan 07, 2011

January 7, 2011 - Spring Hill, FL - An accident on U.S. 19 and Pepper Street resulted in fatal injuries for an elderly Spring Hill man and put his wife in the hospital.

10News WTSP.com reports that the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the December 3 incident that caused the death of 70-year old Ludolf Breymann. Breymann was traveling with his wife, Christina, who was also seriously injured in the crash.

The other driver, Robert McCraw, 42, ran a red light and crashed into the side of the Breymann's vehicle, according to FHP. After striking their vehicle, McCraw's vehicle hit a third car, which then struck another vehicle. Those drivers and one passenger suffered minor injuries.

McCraw has not been charged yet as the accident is still being investigated by the FHP. Ludolf was pronounced dead at the hospital while his wife remained at the hospital with serious injuries.

When you are seriously injured or suffer the loss of a loved one in a Florida car accident because of another driver who violates a traffic law, you may need to file a personal injury or wrongful death claim. While a claim cannot reverse the effects of the accident, it may offer you a chance for compensation to cover any resulting medical bills and other losses you have had to endure.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' 2009 Traffic Crash Statistics Report, there were 197,214 traffic crashes resulting in injury and 2,563 fatalities as a result of vehicle accidents in Florida.

As a service to the residents of St. Petersburg, our firm will frequently publish blogs about local traffic accidents. We do this to raise awareness about the common types of motor vehicle accidents that occur in Florida that may result in serious injury or traffic fatalities.
