

Several Tampa Bay pedestrian accidents leaves two people dead, including a 14-year-old boy, and several others injured. The string of accidents happened on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in the Tampa area.
A Tenoroc High School student was hit by another student while crossing Old Dixie Road. The victim, 14-year-old Colton Meyers, died from injuries sustained in the accident. Meyers was hit when the driver was attempting to pass another car and did not see him.
In St. Petersburg, Shirley Lavine was in the process of crossing US 19 at the 16th Street South crosswalk in her motorized wheelchair when she was hit by an unidentified driver. The force of the impact ejected her out of the wheelchair and onto a grassy area. She was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and listed in serious condition. Police are still searching for the driver.
Two pedestrians, a 29-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, were hit on Tuesday evening, according to New Port Richey Police. They were attempting to cross US 19 near Floramar Terrace when the 29-year-old driver hit the two victims. They were taken to Bayfront Medical Center where they were both listed in critical condition.
Police found another pedestrian victim, William Morrison of Davenport, on the ground suffering a severe head injury. He was apparently hit by a co-worker after the two finished dinner at a local restaurant. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
