December 22, 2011 – St. Petersburg, Fla. – According to St. Petersburg Times, a woman attempting to cross Fourth Street, on Friday, December 16, was hit by a 17 year-old-driver causing the pedestrian to hit her head on the hood and windshield of the 1994 Ford and eventually on the pavement.
The teen driver did try to stop and other cars also tried to swerve away from the woman but she was still hit. The victim was transported to Bayfront Medical Center and was listed in serious condition. It’s unknown if the driver will be charged by the police.
In a news release from the police department it was noted that the pedestrian may have been suffering from a medical condition that could have caused her not to hear the oncoming traffic.
If you were a pedestrian hit or injured by a driver you may have extensive medical bills and be unable to work to pay them. A personal injury claim could help you recover some compensation to aid in the cost. Contact an attorney to help you pursue a personal injury claim.
