Pedestrian accidents can cause serious, if not fatal, injury when a motor vehicle is involved. Drivers must be attentive to pedestrians at all times, even when not in designated crosswalks, to avoid potentially deadly accidents. Pedestrians also need to be aware of pedestrian laws and be wary of oncoming traffic to ensure their own safety. Negligence must be avoided on both the part of the driver and the pedestrian to avoid serious accidents.
