September 2011 - St. Petersburg, Fla. - In a news report from ABC Action News, over the Labor Day weekend the unveiling of a new DUI vehicle by the St. Petersburg police department took place.
The showcasing of this new effort to prevent drinking and driving was done on Thursday, Sept. 1. The DUI vehicle is a Chevrolet Tahoe, which is equipped with moving radar and an onboard breath testing device so that police officers are able to conduct DUI testing directly at the scene of a suspected DUI incident.
The vehicle was a prize that the police department won after their campaign "Over the Limit-Under Arrest," resulted in more than 600 arrests. It was awarded by the Florida Public Safety Institute and the Florida Department of Transportation.
The vehicle will also display the campaign slogan and be a strong reminder to drivers that drinking and driving can lead to tragic consequences.
If you were seriously injured as a result of a DUI accident, you could be eligible to receive compensation. Consulting with a St. Petersburg personal injury attorney who handles serious car accident cases such as those relating to DUI should be your next step.
