

A Tampa car accident involving two vehicles sends one driver to the hospital. The incident took place at approximately 12:30 AM on Friday morning, November 20, 2009 near the intersection of Gandy Boulevard and North Dale Mabry Highway.
When the police arrived on the scene, they discovered a wrecked Chrysler sedan and a white van. They believe that the driver of the white van rear-ended the sedan.
The unidentified driver of the Chrysler had to be removed from the car by special equipment by Tampa Fire Rescue crews. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital. The details of his injuries were no made know at the time of the incident.
According to witnesses, the white van flipped over on its side and then slid approximately 350-400 yards through the intersection. The van eventually righted itself and then slammed into a palm tree.
The driver of the van remains unidentified. It was unknown whether the driver suffered injuries as a result of the crash.
“I was walking by when the man in the white van hit the car and then he slid down,” said eye witness, Eduardo.
The two-vehicle Tampa accident is still under investigation by local authorities. However, police were able to question the driver of the van.
