Tampa Motorcycle Accident Claims the Life of 30-Year-old

A Tampa motorcycle accident claims the life of a 30-year-old after he is thrown from his bike and slams into a construction sign after losing control of his bike during a lane change. The incident took place at approximately 9:15 AM on Sunday morning, May 2, 2010, on Interstate 75.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was driving northbound along I-75, just north of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, when he lost control of his bike while making a lane change. The accident report indicates that the motorcyclist hit the brakes and was thrown off of his bike and into a nearby construction sign.

The motorcyclist has been identified as 30-year-old Matthew Lyle. Rescue crews pronounced Lyle dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident. It was unclear if anyone else was involved in the fatal wreck.

The fatal Tampa motorcycle accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It is unclear as to what caused Lyle to lose control of his bike during the lane change along I-75.
