

January 27, 2012 – Seminole, Fla. – According to a report from My Fox Tampa Bay, a vehicle accident injures 2 people. The car accident occurred on Seminole Boulevard, Friday, January 20, just before midnight.
Steven Simpkins, 17, of Largo, was traveling north, in a 2002 Saturn, when he lost control of the car. It crossed over into oncoming traffic before it struck a pole in the 5000 block of Seminole Blvd.
A witness helped remove Simpkins from the car. Austin Stephens, 20, a passenger, had to be extricated by emergency personnel and was then airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Simpkins was also taken to Bayfront by ambulance.
Stephens sustained several broken bones. Simpkins injuries are not known at this time.
According to police, alcohol may have been involved and another vehicle may have been struck by Simpkins. Charges against him are pending.
