

February 15, 2012 – St. Petersburg, Fla. – According to a report from ABC Action News, video of a car crash leads to an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The car crash occurred about 3 a.m. on Sunday, February 5. Video footage shows 2 cars stopped on Gandy Bridge. An SUV then crashes into one of the stopped cars while going at a high rate of speed. The crash caused the SUV to flip onto its roof.
Drivers of both cars fled the scene of the accident. Their whereabouts and the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. However, it is believed that the driver was drag racing.
Drag racing on Gandy Bridge has been a problem for several years, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. They are continuing to investigate the accident and are asking for any information that can be provided.
